GENEALOGY:
THE SCOTS AND THEIR DESCENDANTS IN ILLINOIS
from Publication #26 Transactions of the Illinois State Historical Society for the Year 1919
8 1/2" x 11", stapled, 58 pages, copied 2 pages onto one page, copy of publication, not original.
Written by Thmas C. MacMillan, he extolls the virtures of the early Scots in contributing to the settlement of America and writes about many of them by name and their early attempts to settle and govern in the "illinois Country", starting in the early 1700s.
Goes into the influence that Gen. George Rogers Clark had in this endeavor, along with other strong supporters.
A good but brief history of the settlement of the area and great background information for the Illinois researcher.
